Description of Species Evergreen, glabrous shrubs, upto 2.5 m high. Leaves opposite, ovate lanceolate, 4.5 – 15 x 2.5 – 8 cm, base decurrent, subentire – crenulate, glabrous. Flowers white, in short bracteate, 2.5 – 6 cm or more long spikes, bracts foliaceous, ovate, to 2 cm long. Calyx 0.5 cm long, hairy, lobes lanceolate, acute. Corolla white with pink or purple strips, 1.8 – 2.6 cm long, 2 – lipped. Stamens 2. Anthers minutely tailed.
