Description of Species EEvergreen, aromatic, pubescent villous shrubs, to 3 m high. Leaves ovate lanceolate, crenate serrate, base rounded or acute, softly pubescent above, densely tomentose with punctuate glands beneath. Flowers in dense, many flowered, cylindric, axillary or terminal spikes or panicles; male and female often in different plants, bracts linear, subulate, ciliate. calyx small, deeply 5 lobed, densely tomentose; teeth minute, accrescent and long ciliate in fruiting. corolla pale white or white, 4 – lobed, as long as calyx, pubescent.
