Description of Species Small shrubs, up to 3 m tall; branches gray-brown, shallowly longitudinally fluted, unarmed. Petiole sturdy; leaf blade obovate, leathery, base cuneate, margin remotely crenate, sometimes glandular spotted in sinus of teeth, apex rounded or subtruncate. Flower in cymes axillary; peduncle, white; calyx lobes deltoid; petals obovate-oblong or oblong, entire, obtuse. Stamens inserted abaxially on disk margin; anther broadly ovoid. Fruit a capsule obovoid, trilocular; seeds ellipsoid, red. Leaf Details Leaf blade obovate, leathery, base cuneate, margin remotely crenate, sometimes glandular spotted in sinus of teeth, apex rounded or subtruncate.
