Description of Species Deciduous trees, up to 12 m high; bark sometimes with darker streaks. Leaves opposite or subopposite, very variable, ovate, orbicular, elliptic or oblong, acuminate, crenate-serrate or subentire, glabrous; petioles, stipules small, deciduous. Flowers yellow-brown, 4-5 merous, in large axillary cymes; bracts small, caducous. Sepals obovoid, obtuse. Petals oblong, yellowish-brown with white margins. Stamens shorter than petals. Fruit a drupes ovoid, yellowish-green, 1-seeded, tipped with persistent style.
