Description of Species Deciduous trees, up to 15 m high; bark grayish. Leaves imparipinnate, leaflets 3-5 pairs, opposite, elliptic-oblong, obtuse, entire, glabrous or densely pubescent beneath, base unequal sided. Flower divided in male and female; Male spikes solitary or 2-6 together, hairy, borne on leafless branches; perianth 3-6 lobed; stamens 4-12. Female spikes pendulous, bracats large. Tepals 4, adnate to the ovary. Nuts small, globose, across, coriaceous, attached with much enlarged 3-lobed bracats; bracts with straight mid rib and reticulate veins.
