Description of Species Erect or ascending, sparsely pubescent, up to 2 m high; stem 4 – angular, purplish or yellowish – brown. Leaves ovate, crenate – serrate, scabrid above, toothed, pointed, often rough, softly and densely velvety below with minute glands hidden within the pubescence. Bracts ovate, acuminate, softly pubescent. Flowers whitish, often with yellowish tube. in globose heads elongating in fruits. Lower bracts ovate, forming involucre. Calyx small, hairy. Fruit drupes, purple or reddish, when mature. Leaf Details Leaves ovate, crenate – serrate, scabrid above, toothed, pointed, often rough, softly and densely velvety below with minute glands hidden within the pubescence.
