Description of Species Simple or branched herbs or undershrubs, to 1.5 m high with stout, fistular stem, clothed with bristly hairs. Leaves variable in size and shape, usually orbicular to broadly ovate, 3-9 lobed; dentate or serrate; stipules linear to filiform or lanceolate, stellately hairy. Flowers solitary, axillary or in compact terminal racemes, bright yellow, 8-12 cm across. Epicalyx bracteoles lanceolate, acute, stiff hairy. Calyx villous. Petals obovate, fleshy at base.. Capsules ovoid-oblong, to 5-angular; seeds dark-brown, hairy.
