Description of Species Deciduous trees, upto 20 m high; young branches puberulous. Leaves opposite, elliptic or ovate – oblong, abruptly acuminate, pubescent on both survaces; secondary nerves 7 – 10 pairs; base attenuate; petioles 2.5 – 7 cm long; stipules oblong, with broad or cordate base, caducous. Flowers 4 – 5 mm long, greenish – white, on slender pedicels, in short clusters, forming erect, terminal racemes; bracts large, leafy, persistent. Calyx tube short; lobes obsolete. Corolla funnel – shaped, hairy outside; lobes minute. Capsules 1.2 – 2 cm long, ellipsoid, many – seeded; seeds, flat, lenticular, winged all round the margins.
